Check out the St. Leo Catholic Academy February calendar.

Roses are Red, Violets are Blue,

K-1 is sweet

and so are you!

We welcome our new SuperKids Icky in February.

Kindergarten children will be learning the beginning and middle sound of /i/ and continue to practice beginning, middle and final sound of the letters /a/  /c/ /d/ /g/ /o/ /l/. Practice sounding out simple words that include these letter sounds. Try sounding out words such as “cat”, “dog”, “odd”, “glass”, “glad”, “sad”.

Parents, you have access to this wonderful program and should have received an email from SuperKids that will help you to get started. This is a great early childhood reading program and we are excited about having it as part of our Kindergarten Curriculum. Remember to review the letter sounds at home that the children are learning in class.

In Go Math we are working on numbers 8, 9, and 10. Children are working on different combinations that equal to 8, 9, and 10. The children enjoy working on this skill through our “Shake and Spill” activity.

This month we will celebrate our 100 days in school.  Please work with your child in completing their 100 day project. You can find many 100 day ideas on the Internet.

Our Starfall.com program is also another wonderful resource to enhance our learning skills in Math and Reading. It is important to reinforce all the classroom topics at home with your child. Please make sure children are doing their homework, this a great way to review all of our classroom topics.

It’s Groundhog’s Day! K-1 has been working on their predictions.  Will it be early spring or 6 more weeks of winter.  What do you think?

Thank you to all of the parents who volunteered on Career Day!

Thank you for your donation of socks to St. Joseph’s House.  Your generosity was very much appreciated!

Thank you for sharing your wonderful children with me!

Remember to always check your child’s folder and return it each day.
