Welcome December!

Posted on December 1, 2018

Check out the St. Leo Catholic Academy December calendar.

December is the month we celebrate the birthday of our Saviour, Jesus Christ!

We welcome our new SuperKids Alf and Doc in December. Kindergarten children will be learning the beginning and middle sound of /a/ and beginning and final sound of /d/.

Parents, you have access to this wonderful program and should have received an email from SuperKids that will help you to get started. This is a great early childhood reading program and we are excited about having it as part of our Kindergarten Curriculum. Remember to review the letter sounds at home that the children are learning in class.

In Go Math we are comparing sets that are less than, greater than or equal. Our Starfall.com program is also another wonderful resource to enhance our learning skills in Math and Reading. It is important to reinforce all the classroom topics at home with your child. Please make sure children are doing their homework, this a great way to review all of our classroom topics.

Science! Recently, we visited the Science Lab where we discussed measurements and the children have been measuring objects in the classroom. Kindergarten children enjoyed the experience.  We will soon welcome the season of winter which starts on Friday, December 21. Brrr!

We are now in the season of Advent.  We are preparing to celebrate the birthday of baby Jesus. Remember, our Christmas pageant is scheduled for Thursday, December 20. We hope to see you all there.

Christmas is quickly approaching, let us remember the true meaning of Christmas. We are collecting baby supplies for our food pantry. Please donate if you can.

Thank you for sharing your wonderful children with me!

Remember to always check your child’s folder and return it each day.

Let’s get ready to bring in 2019!
